    Hi,

My webshop is made with WooCommerce and is made in French.
On the Checkout page, I would like to change the text of the “PLACE ORDER” button (which is “COMMANDER” in French) on my website because it is a legal obligation here to write on the button that there is an obligation of payment.

Could you please tell me how to modify the text of this button?
Then, if my website is translated in a second language with WPML, can I translate this new text in the second language with WPML? And how?

Thank you very much in advance for your help.

  • Hello,

You can translate this using plugin like Loco Translate. Search for the string in language files and edit.

If you plan to use WPML, it also has similar feature localize theme and plugins, you can contact WPML support for assistance.

    Hello,

I could translate it with WPML in French and Dutch as I wanted but how can I now modify the text of the original string “PLACE ORDER” in English? (it cannot be done with WPML)

    Thank you very much.

You just need to edit the English language file, you can do it wither using locao translate or WPML

    Hi @safeerz,

    Thank you for your answer.
How do you edit the English language file with WPML?
I go to WPML > String Translation but since English is the original language of the string, I cannot change it. I cannot only change the “translation languages”.
Could you please tell me how to change it?

Thank you very much for your help.

    Hello,

I may be wrong, I do not have WPML, you can check with WPML support.

If there is no such option, you can use Loco translate or poeditor
