How to change the sidebar

    Dear All,

    i wanted to know as to how can i change the sidebar menu or add a couple of things more in the sidebar.
    Like in blogspot i dont find any template described.
    Plz help

    Go to the “Presentation” tab in your admin interface, select the “Theme Editor” sub-tab, and choose the Sidebar Template.

    i am sorry but not able to locate theme editor

    Ah, I see that your profile links to your WordPress.com blog. You cannot edit the theme of your WordPress.com blog at this time. The best that you can do to edit your sidebar is add links and link categories via the “Links” tab. For adding images and buttons to your sidebar, see this: https://faq.wordpress.com/2005/10/27/how-can-i-post-buttons-and-images-links-in-my-sidebar/

    Also, WordPress.com blogs are not supported here. To obtain support for your WordPress.com blog, use the “Feedback” link in your admin interface.

    oh ok.. i got that now… if i need to add flickr or add a calender on the side.. how can i add the codes? i think thats not possible right ?
    but i have seen many users doing the same.
    How were they able to do it

    also how can i activate the theme editor.
    any other link or do i have to create a new blog ?

    1)Click Presentation.
    2)Click on the tab which sais theme editor.
    Then you see all scripts for personal change.

    Still, You got to CHMOD the files to writable so that they can be changed.

    please, read before you jump into replying ??
    the OP has a wordpress.com account, which means:
    1. what you posted is not true – they cannot modify template files

    If you want to use the Theme Editor, add plugins, and generally have more control over your blog, purchase a hosting account, and download and install WordPress.
