• I need to change a permalink http address for a single page. I’ve read other posts about the permalink structure in Settings, but that’s not the trouble.
Most of my other pages still show an “edit” button next to the “view page” button next to the permalink for that page.
The page I want to change does not show the edit button next to the permalink http address.
The address of the page I want to change is the root directory of my wordpress installation, and I want to have a different page to have that address.
How do I change its http address without the edit button?

  • This page that you want to change is the frontpage or blog page?

You can check this in All Pages you will see the page name with a black assign.

‘My page name – Front Page’

This is not for the first page seen for my website. WordPress is installed in a subdirectory of my domain. It is simply one of the pages I have formed. It is not a blog page.

In simply going to that subdirectory of my domain in firefox, it defaults to that page, so I guess it is the frontpage of that subdirectory. It does show the “front page” next to the name. Do you know of a way to edit the permalink?
