How to change the order of the search results

  • Right now if I search for the word “dog” on my blog I get four search results. The actual post that I published called “Dog” is the fourth in the list. The first three are posts that contain the word dog somewhere in their title. I believe this is because the “dog” post was published earlier than the others. And WordPress seems to order results with the newer posts on top.

    My question is, how can I make the search results give more relevance to the title than the publish date when it comes to numbering? So that for example the post called “dog” will be ordered first in the results page.
