Ok, so much for WP ‘reusable blocks’ which was way better than the patterns approach. Before when they were reusable blocks we could easily change the title of any block and easily update it on any page/post and easily sync it or not as desired.

Now we can’t even see how to change the name of a pattern after we have created it. So let’s call a new patter “promo call to action” and we see it in the list of patterns (my patterns). We can edit the content of the pattern but how can we change the name of it?

This is probably a WP core issue, but just in case, the theme dev would have a good idea what’s going on here. Patterns are buggy and WP core needs to work the bugs out, like not being able to use patterns in the widgets/sidebar.

Thanks for your help. Great theme!

Aha, I see the way to change the name of pattern now. You have to open/edit the desired pattern and choose the “code editor” option, then it will show you the name of the pattern which can then be updated, etc. Then you can switch back over to visual editor again for easy + of content in pattern.

    Hello @wordmax

Indeed, the patterns system was changed with the latest WordPress 6.5 system. Sadly, this is something that’s not controlled by the theme.

Perhaps the WordPress developers have something bigger in mind for future iterations? From what I can see, they do plan on improving the new system in the upcoming WordPress 6.6 update, so you may want to look forward to that. ??

We’ll keep monitoring the situation and make any adjustments as needed.

    Thank you.
