how to change the look of the archives ?

  • Hi , i was tryin` to change the look and design of the Archive of the months .. its appear on the right side of the page and i’d like to change the place into a diff. page so any user want to visit a month or a year he can click for example on “Archive” icon and he can get all months and year …

    Any idea about how can i do this?

  • Put a link with a href of "/archives/". That should do it.

    Are you using the default theme? It comes with an archives.php file. Simply make a link in your sidebar:

    <a href="/archives/" title="View the archives">Archives</a>

    im using “pool theme” and i tried that link u gave me and its not working also…

    any other idea please?

    Are you using permalinks? The theme does ship with an archives page, so try enabling permalinks. Then the above-mentioned link should work. After looking at the theme, I would put the link around the heading in the sidebar where your archives are currently. That would look nice. You could even leave the archives that display below that heading. The default archives page with the Pool theme shows a list of the archives by month, then by category.
