How to change the front page thumbnails

  • On the front page it shows me my posts. Each post has the same black picture, a grey clipboard. I want to make each of these a picture that goes along with the post. Each post would have it’s own picture.

    Can you tell me how to do that?

    And I get the feeling this is a new user type question. Is there a set of guides / instructions to use with sixteeen (or with most of the custom templates?)
