• Hi!

I want to change inscription “The file you tried to upload is too large. The file must be smaller than 100K” I found that in participants-database.pot, but after editing nothing happened. It’s still the same. I also found it languages folder in .po files, but nothing happened either.

Could you help me with this?

    Thx

    Monika

It will work, but you have to follow a specific procedure to make changes to translation files. Don’t change the POT file, that is simply the template for all other translation files.

I wrote an article that explains how changes like this are made:

Customizing the Text in Participants Database

    Thx for your fast answer.

    But I don’t have “/wp-content/languages/participants-database/participants-database-LOCALE.mo”.

I tried to find another folder “languages”, but with no result (I got only folder “languages” with language examples, *.po and *.mo files).

And weird thing is, that I have a polish translation (that I need for all texts) by default. I mean I don’t change anything. Most texts are polish (that I’m glad) but that “The file you tried to upload is too large..” is english.

The “LOCALE” just means the language code for your language. For Polish, the language code is “pl_PL” so the translation file name will be:

    /wp-content/languages/participants-database/participants-database-pl_PL.po

That is the file that you open and edit using the translation file editor.

Only the .po file is edited, the .mo file is generated automatically by the software when you save the .po file.

    Thank you, now it works!

I just had to create folder “participants-database” (/wp-content/languages/participants-database/) and there add translation files.

    Regards!
