    Hello,

I want to rename one of my podcasts. Since it’s self hosted with your SSP plugin (latest version, currently 3.2.0), I was wondering about how to safely do that – since I also want to change the domain/URL, which would affect the rss feed as well.

So how can I make sure to do that without loosing the connection to all subscribers?

    Thanks for your help,

    Daniel

    Hi @jdaniel,

You’ll need to copy your site to the new domain, and then setup redirect on your old site to the new podcast here – Podcasting -> Settings -> Feed details -> {Your feed} -> New podcast feed URL.

    Hope this helps,
    Serhiy.

Thanks, Serhiy, for this helpful answer. I wasn’t aware of that feature. Great!

About the first step: I was wondering if it’s possible to use “Better Search Replace” to simply replace all the old domain names into the new domain name at once? Or how would you recommend a proper process? (1. Clone/Duplicate your site e.g. with Duplicator Pro or similar to the new domain, 2. Use Better Search Replace to replace all domain names EXCEPT for the GUIDs that are needed to identify each published episodes on Spotify etc.)

Thanks for clarification on this one!

    Hi @jdaniel,

Yes, you’ll need to replace the old domain with the new one. While I can’t recommend a specific plugin since it’s beyond the scope of the plugin support, any tool that allows the replacement of the old domain with the new one while retaining the old GUIDs should work.

    Best regards,
    Serhiy.
