How to change the default value for the city section in the invoice information?

Thank you for contacting Woo support.

WooCommerce does not provide a feature to set a default city as it appears on your site.
In fact, the City field should appear as a Text Box where the customer can type a city name.

Here is a screenshot of my test site with default WooCommerce feature.

It appears your site is using a plugin or theme that is modifying the default functionality of WooCommerce.

If you share your site’s System Status Report, I can find out what is responsible for this behavior.
Then you contact their support to resolve this problem.

This is probably being caused by the plugin Checkout Field Editor for WooCommerce. Can you please deactivate it and check if the issue persists?

If it does, please run a full conflict test to check what is causing the issue.

To test, you’ll first want to change the theme on your site to Storefront, then check to see if the issue is still present. If that resolves the issue, you’ll want to get in touch with your theme’s developer and see if they have an update or fix for you.

If changing the theme doesn’t help, you’ll want to deactivate all plugins except for WooCommerce and take a look. If that fixes the problem, re-enable the other plugins one by one (gradually), checking after each, to see where the issue is coming from.

— Be sure you have a good backup in place of your full site and database. You can ask your host for backup functionality or you can consider using a service like Jetpack. If something goes wrong, you will be able to restore it.

— It is important to consider as well a staging functionality in case you would not like to touch your production site (you can ask your host if they offer this service), or you can use WP Staging for quickly spinning up a new test site.

This is unrelated to the issue, but I see on the SSR that your database is outdated. This can cause a lot of issues on the website.

Please update it by either following the warning message a the top of the page on WooCommerce area of the dashboard or going to WooCommerce > Status > Tools > Update Database.

Be sure you have a good backup in place of your full site and database.

I did what you said. It doesn’t seem to be caused by one of the themes or plugins. However, when I press the Woocommerce database update button, it does not update. The text WooCommerce database update in progress constantly appears on the admin panel. Even though I tried to update for a long time, this article did not disappear in the admin panel. I removed the default value for the city section with the code below. But it shouldn’t be this way. Instead of removing this unwanted value, we hidden it with code. This is not a nice solution. Woocommerce should not bring this value to the checkout page.

I’m still waiting for the right solution from you. What other places should I check out?

I checked your website’s SSR and noticed there are 19 active plugins and the theme is set to Hello Elementor.

As I previously explained, WooCommerce does not provide a dropdown option to choose a city and therefore a default city cannot be set. WooCommerce provides a Text Box to type a city name.

After further inspection of your site’s code, I noticed that the dropdown option for the city is using the Dropdown field used for the State field.

This means that your site is using a customized Checkout form where the State field is being used as a City field.

As per forum guidelines, we cannot assist you with a customized Checkout page.
You may contact a professional web developer to fix this problem.

There seems to be a customization or a plugin that is modifying the default WooCommerce functionality on your site. WooCommerce, by default, does not set a default city; it provides a text box for customers to input their city.

To resolve this, a conflict test is recommended. Please ensure you have a complete backup of your site before proceeding. You can start by deactivating all your plugins except WooCommerce and switch to a default theme like Storefront. I disabled all plugins. I activated the storefront theme. State and email values ??are still coming. I can hide the city value using the code below, but the email value still comes.

This may be related to saved information in your browser, if you try this in another browser it should show up fine, for instance, here’s what I see when visiting your page and going to the checkout:

As you can see, there’s no city or email auto-populated. This should be the same for any customer who visits your site. You’re seeing your own admin email as you’ve probably placed a test order on your site with your email already, but it’ll only show to you, not to regular customers! ??

Woocommerce database update actions appear as expired and non-recurring actions. I run these 5 actions one by one with the run link and they appear in the completed section. But in the woocommerce status list, the database version still appears as 8,8,3.

Thank you for the additional details. Can you share a screenshot of the pending actions tab from your WP Cron, as well as your WooCommerce > Status > Scheduled Actions > Pending?
