how to change the database connected to wordpress

  • Hello

    on localhost how to connect to another database than the one I created while installing the wordpress.

    I want to disconnect the old one and delete it totally to connect to new database.

  • Just change the credentials in wp-config.php. If the new database is empty, you will need to reinstall by visiting the wp-admin/install.php so the tables can be created.

    WordPress has two parts: files and database. Installation connects the two.

    yes, thanks for the link. I know how to install wordpress but what if I want to change the database connected without reinstalling wordpress?
