How to change category pages to others designed by myself?

You can create template pages based on Category.

Here is the Category template hierarchy:

I should add – if you were using a Page Builder on your site, there are better approaches than this. For example, Beaver Builder or Elementor has modules available that allow you to filter your posts by Category. So in these types of cases, it would be too much extra effort to build out templates for all Categories.

I’m not using a page builder, but I was considering using some plugin to speed things up a bit.

The thing is that I want an specific design of the category pages, in fact I have a draft of them. I would have to convert said pages to templates to make the changes that I want. I found the following plugin in this article:

The plugin is “Post X“. I haven’t been able to fully test it yet as I need to fix the issue of search engines not indexing my website while doing these experiments. And I’m still waiting for an answer about another thread that I started to be able to customize block-posts.

In conclusion, so far I have made minor changes to the site using only HTML on a child theme. Do you suggest any plugin to be able to build out templates? Or any other idea?

A page builder won’t speed things up a bit, it’ll speed things up a lot. I use this one, but there are lots to choose from,

Several people including myself have made suggestions re: non-indexed sites under development, and pages. Not sure what the issue is here.

Actually, I was only referring to the possibility of using a plugin to create the Templates. It is not my intention to use a page builder @corrinarusso, although I appreciate the suggestion.
