    Hi

I’m in the template section, where do I go to change the auto email that gets sent to the customer after placing order. I need to reword this.

ALSO as my client does NOT want freight added to the initial Order as it is too hard to add it for different products, the client wants to be able to EDIT and quote the client (AFTER the order has been placed), and after they have checked with the courier please HOW much freight will be.

Can the client go back into the Orders and CHANGE/Add the freight into the Client Order, and then send that NEW FINAL Order from there?

Can we send an INVOICE directly to the client from there also?

    Thanks

    Hi @kristinubute,

I’m in the template section, where do I go to change the auto email that gets sent to the customer after placing order. I need to reword this.

To modify the email sent to your customer after placing an order, you can navigate to WooCommerce > Settings > Emails.

Here, you’ll find a list of emails that WooCommerce sends out. The one you’re looking for is “Processing order”. Click on “Manage” next to it, and you can edit the email’s subject, heading, and additional content.

However, if you want to customize it completely, you need to use an additional plugin like Email Customizer for WooCommerce or Email Customizer Pro.

Can the client go back into the Orders and CHANGE/Add the freight into the Client Order, and then send that NEW FINAL Order from there?

After placing the order, WooCommerce allows you to edit orders through the dashboard. You can navigate to WooCommerce > Orders and select the specific order you want to edit. Here, you can add the freight cost as a line item. However, this process is manual and might require some time.

Can we send an INVOICE directly to the client from there also?

Yes, after updating the order, use the “Order Actions” Option to resend the order notification and invoice to the customer email.

You can see how this is done in the video I recorded here: https://cln.sh/M7mMxzB3

Please note that you need to use an additional plugin like the PDF Invoices & Packing Slips to send a PDF invoice. It allows you to attach PDF invoices to the WooCommerce emails sent out to your customers.

Alternatively, you might want to consider using the Table Rate Shipping extension. This extension allows you to set up complex shipping rules, such as different rates for different products, which could make calculating freight costs easier.

I hope this helps! Please let us know if you have any other questions or need further assistance.

    Hi

Thanks for that. Yes I already use the PDF Invoices & Packing Slips which is a great plugin with Woocommerce.

My next question for the same client, is WHERE do I change the text that is displayed on the screen after an order is placed. The customer usually sees information generally on the screen after the order is placed with the details of the Order, order number etc.

I need to change this text also.

    Thanks

To change the text shown on the screen after an order is placed, you will need to modify the “Thank You” template. Here are some resources that might help:

Additionally, you can also use a plugin like Custom Thank You Pages or Thank You Page Customizer for WooCommerce to customize it.

However, if you want to customize the text only, you may use the Loco Translate plugin.

I hope this helps! Please let us know how it goes or if you need further assistance.

I see now that it also says:

This template has been set aside p? your theme and can be found here oceanwp/woocommerce/emails/customer-invoice.php

How can I change this and find it?
