How to Change the Author of a Post

    Hi,

    I am the Administrator of a WordPress blog. And I want to change the author of a post. How to do so? It is better to use the built-in function in WordPress. If that is not possible, then how to do that with SQL statements?

    I prefer not to install any plugins.

    Hello @chcw,

    In order to change the author of an existing post in your blog, go to your WordPress admin area > Posts > Edit.

    Click the post whose author you would like to change and find the Post Author section. From the drop-down menu choose the new author and then click the Update Post button to save the change.

    If there is no post author section then you can mark it check from screen options above the post in same page,then it will appear.

    If you want to bulk edit information, here is a link explaining how to do that in the database – https://freewptp.com/tutorials/bulk-edit-wordpress-posts-and-pages/ . Make sure to do a backup of your site and database before making changes in the database. I always run the SQL in preview mode to see what it changes and I run it locally before I execute it on a live site.
