How to change styles ??

Well, it’s a might bit more complicated than that. WordPress doesn’t have a template system in that you can just download something from anywhere and slap it in and choose it from the admin console. I guess the best way to say it is, it’s not “skinnable.”
You’d do it like you would any other web site. Put your styles into your wp-layout.css. The template (index.php) may have to be adjusted if you didn’t download something specifically written for a default WordPress installation or if you modified your template at all.
NuclearMoose has a nice explanation of the WordPress CSS. Though I think it was for 1.o, it should still help you, I hope.

Not everything is in the index.php file. A lot of things are in the templates functions file in the includes folder i believe. I can’t remember offhand. However a lot of output settings can be changed here that not many people no about. For example look what I did with the archives on this blog thats not finished yet. I used the drop down function that is built in.

I’ve just been acros to that site and downloaded a nice 3 column layout, I dont have a clue how to implemnet it .One of the files is .DS_store. Where would I place these files? where would I point to the new style.css sheet? is it in index.php?
