I’m working with the Strong Testimonials on a new client site and find that my choice of fields to display when in choosing to display All Testimonials are different than on another client site.

Other site with version 1.18.4 gives me a choice of:
Excerpt Full Name Thumbnail Category Shortcode Date

This site using 1.20 only shows:
    Order Excerpt Category Shortcode Date

I really need name and thumbnail as choices.

Are you referring to this? https://screencast.com/t/KijIToyHNq

Were the custom fields changed? If client_name and featured_image were removed, they will not be available as columns.

yes, Chris, that’s exactly what I’m talking about. On each of the testimonials I have entered, I have a full name in the full name field. I have featured image thumbnails on two of the testimonials so far. I have not deleted any fields.

The code that assembles the columns has not changed.

In Fields, is the “Admin Table” option checked for name and thumbnail?

Please tell what theme you’re using and what other plugins are installed.

I apologize, Liz. I found the bug and I’m working on it.

This is fixed in version 1.20.1.

    Chris,
Not sure where the issue is but this isn’t resolved yet. I’ve upgraded both of these sites to 1.20.1 and both are at WordPress 4.2.5. Both are using Genesis child themes, if that makes any difference.

the screen options on one site has
    order
    excerpt
    category
    shortcode
    date

    the other has
    excerpt
    fullname
    thumbnail
    category
    shortcode
    date

the latter is obviously better because when trying to insert single testimonials, it is easier to find by name than the title or excerpt. Also this shows me where I need to get the rest of the thumbnails.

    thank you,
    Liz

I understand the need. I did not intentionally remove anything.

We have two options. Contact me at wpmission.com with a temporary admin login for the site with the problem so I can restore the missing fields. Or I can give you a little plugin that will reset the options as if you were installing the plugin for the first time.

On the site with the missing columns, can you try restoring the default fields in the fields editor?

    Thread Starter Liz

    (@lizschneider)

    Chris,
This is happening on other sites where I previously had your plugin installed. I guess the plugin would be the better choice. If I restore default fields, what happens to the data in the new fields I added?

    (@cdillon27)

You won’t lose the testimonial data. But if you want to wait, I am going to spend today figuring out exactly where it failed in the jump from 1.18 to 1.20 so I can solve this once and for all.

In testing, I managed to reproduce the problem and also confirm that version 1.20.1 repairs it. However, it did not re-check the “Admin Table” option for each field it repaired. That option makes them available as list columns.

Please verify the “Admin Table” option now appears on each field in the Fields editor and whether selecting that option (and saving changes) adds them to the admin list.

    Liz, any progress on this?
