Hi! I have coupon codes set up give certain items free to a select group of people.

However, when the cart total is $0, the button still reads “Proceed to PayPal” even though it never brings you to PayPal. I’m not sure where in the code (or settings) to fix this.

Anyone have thoughts on how to get it to instead say “proceed” or “continue” instead of mentioning PayPal which might be confusing for the person redeeming a free product?

    Hi @nomadiqgrills,

When testing today with Stripe and PayPal payment gateways enabled for WooCommerce if the order total is $0.00 on the default checkout page there would be no payment gateways displayed and you’d simply see a Place Order button.

the same is true when testing the new WooCommerce Checkout Block with Stripe and PayPal enabled.

    I hope this helps.

Thanks for testing that! I am using the new Checkout Block, but I’m getting a different result when the cart total is $0.

Considering your test, perhaps this means I’m experiencing a plugin conflict? I can’t imagine that a setting would cause this.

Thank you for your help. Updating the plugins didn’t fix it. So, if I can get a staging site up I’ll probably try disabling and reenabling the plugins one by one to see if one of them is the culprit.

    Hi @nomadiqgrills,

Thanks for getting back with the screenshot.

Considering your test, perhaps this means I’m experiencing a plugin conflict?

This could be likely due to a conflict with your theme or with another plugin. The best way to determine this is to:

    • Temporarily switch your theme to Storefront
    • Disable all plugins except for WooCommerce
    • Repeat the action that is causing the problem

If you’re not seeing the same behavior after completing the conflict test, then you know the problem was with the plugins and/or theme you deactivated.

Reactivate the theme first and check again. Then, go on and reactivate your other plugins one by one, testing after each, until you find the one causing conflict.

You can find a more detailed explanation on how to do a conflict test here:

    https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/how-to-test-for-conflicts/.

Please make sure you have a backup in place of your site and database. If something goes wrong, it’s nice to know that you can restore your site to the previous state.

    Thanks!
