How to change position where image loads?

I have a long page of photos and when you click on an image it always loads in the middle so you have to scroll down to see it. Even if you click on the last image at the bottom of page,it loads and extends the page!
How to change this and have it load more to the top or always at the middle no matter where you are scrolling on the page! Help! Thanks!
