• Hi there, this is my site: https://www.tanookisite.com

My URLs are currently set to the “default” mode, but I would like to change them to “post name” mode. When I change the mode under “Permalinks Settings” section, all the links on the site no longer work and I get the message “update web.config now.” So I set it back to “default” for the time being.

I’ve tried some of the other instructions posted to people with a similar problem, but it doesn’t seem to work. Could someone explain what I should do?

    Thanks so much!

  • From my brief searching, would I be correct to assume you’re on a Windows server? If so, I’d recommend getting in touch with your hosting provider.

I am not entirely sure what being on a windows server means, but I think that is probably what my hosting provider uses.

I personally use a Mac, Cyberduck for FTP, and GoDaddy for URLs.
