How to change permalinks from test to official

    Hi
    I have developed a testsite and now it is time to go official.
    My permalinks are in form “https://whm19.louhi.net/~soviosov/2016”
    but I want them to get the official form “sovio-sovelius.com”
    In my webbhotel I have created a .htaccess that redirect from the old site to the new: “sovio-sovelius.com” but the permalinks is still https://whm19.louhi.net/~soviosov/2016/…
    I dont want to mess anymore with the site and want to know how to change the permalinks.
    As I understand I could use either .htaccess or some Pluguin, but I am not sure wich one nor how to do it. Please Help.

  • When Moving from test Sites to Main sites
    All the Text widget that you have add will get lost,So you have to take a Backup of the text Widget you have created

    You need to change the Url from the Cpanel of the Server

    First Export the DB an then make a copy of the DB ( For Safety )

    Then you need to change the OLD_URL to NEW_URL

    an then import it again to the Phpmyadmin

    Then Login to admin section
    Goto Setting->permalink and set the permalink again

    Now I had time to try to fix the problem.
    I tried to export, change, an import via phpMyadmin.
    Logged out from WP, Created an exportfile, changed it and imported the changed file. I got Akismet error.
    Tried again, after I deaktivated Akismet Plugin.
    Now I get the following error:

    I can’t figure out how to solve the error. It will not update the database due to the error.

    I did not know that I need to empty all tables in MySql-database before I imported.
    That was my problem.
    Thanks to “harimay” and “girlieworks”
