How to change or edit comment author name

    Hello!

    All of a sudden (possibly related to the last WP update), my ability as admin to change the name of a comment author in the ‘edit comment’ function, no longer works.

    I can type in a new name and press ‘update’ but the new name refuses to show up!

    Anyone have any clues?

    This function is important for my site as I’m bringing posts over from a different platform and I need to re-create comments below posts by different people in the online community. I don’t want to lose all that conversational history.

  • Can you replicate the problem using the default Twenty Fourteen theme with all plugins deactivated?

    Good question Esmi. Looks like Buddy Press is the culprit.

    I will lodge a ticket with them.
