How to change “news” in Permalink

    Hi,

    Your documentation says

    Please make sure that Permalink link should not be “/news” Otherwise all your news will go to archive page. You can give it other name like “/ournews, /latestnews etc”

    but I don’t see anywhere during installation how to set it. Is this related to creating a page for the News? If I don’t create a page, what happens? I tried creating a page and gave it a slug ‘lnews’, it didn’t help. I don’t understand it at all. How will your plugin know what the page slug is?

    I can only change the last part of each news permalink but the “news” appears before all permalinks by default. How do I change that? I have placed a short code on my home page and when I click on those news items I get 404 error.

    Hello,

    Let me explain.
    if you create any page for news then do not give name as “news” insted of give name like “ournews”.
    if you give your new news page name like “news” then WordPress consider this page as news archive page.

    Please share your home page URL, So I can check the issue and help you.

    Thanks for your prompt response. I understand your point – you don’t want us to name a news item as “news”. The portion before that can be news, which by default is anyway “news” in all your permalinks. Correct me if I am wrong.

    I still have the 404 issue with each news item. The site is lawgate.in. See the two columns with News (and Forum) at the bottom of the screen.

    Hello,

    Thanks for reaching here.

    Then follow this step
    1. Please go to admin panel Setting–> Permalink and under Permalink setting, click on

    2. Select a plain radio button and save.
    3. Once done, again click on Post Name radio button and press save. This will fix your issue.
