How to change menu width

You can decrease the padding between menu items.Try the following code in custom css if you have option for that otherwise use custom css plugin

.main-navigation ul li a{
padding: 20px 8px;
}

thanks that worked but what if i added more item in the nav? i mean cant i increase the width?
