How to change font style for one word in page title

Hi, I am trying to figure out how to change the font style of one word within a title of a page. I have tried wrapping the word in a div in developer tools but it seems to just show up on the page. for example:

This is my <div id=”random”>random</div> title on a page.

This only seems to result in the tag itself appearing on my page.

I would greatly appreciate any help.
