    Hi there,

I have a wordpress site with default language.
    define(‘WPLANG’, ”);

And I want to change a plugin text by using loco -> plugins -> Template file -> add new text in Context. But it not works.

    Plugin: Ultimate FAQ

Can you help provide some suggestions? Thanks a lot.

    Cheers,
    Mcwolf

  • Hi @mcwolf00.
I am translating several plugins that have my theme in Spanish.
I do it in the following way:
? 1- Plugin (choose your plugin)>>> translate >>> new language >>> skip template >>> choose language.
?? In this process there are links with information about the steps to follow and how to follow them.
I just try to give you guidance, because I’m also new to WordPress, and I hope my suggestion will be helpful.
    Luck.

    Don’t edit the template.

    1. Go into the Advanced tab and enter “lang” into the Domain Path field.
    2. Save the configuration.
    3. Go back to Overview tab and click “New language”.

Be warned, the ultimate-faqs plugin doesn’t have a fully up to date POT file. There may be some strings you can’t translate. If you want to generate your own POT file, you can; but I recommend contacting the author instead.

I should add – the advice from @miguelitolaparra is fine, but you’ll be performing string extraction directly from the source code, which comes with gotchas.

It’s always best to use a template from the author that you know is 100% correct.
