How to change a subdomain to be a root domain

  • Dear friends, I do really need your help to solve a problem I have.

    I want to change my subdomain “hp.matematicaresolvida.com” to be my root domain “www.matematicaresolvida.com”.

    The WordPress on hp.matematicaresolvida.com was installed on a subdirectory and my root domain is currently displaying a site from another server.

    What I need to change on the DNS records, .htaccess file and WordPress options to do this change?

    I’ll be so grateful if anyone can help me in this matter.
