how to centre shortcode menu plugin

Hi, I am trying to centre the shortcode menu plugin with css but with no luck, the css I am using is:
.shortcode_menu {
margin: 0.5em 0;
padding: 0 0 0 1.5em;
text-align:center;
}I found this on your forum but does not work.
