I am selling a number of fixed products with no variations.

An example might be a range of different power cables. Each power cable is a separate unit and does not come in a range of lengths. However, this means across the whole range a number of different lengths are available.

Cable A is 2 meters long, cable B is 16 meters long and so on.

As well as the product price I’d like to show the price per unit (in the above example the price per meter of cable).

What is the best way to do this?

Everything I have found so far seems to relate to products that are sold per-unit (in this case allowing customers to buy X meters of cable). However in this case the price & size of each product is fixed; I just want customers to be able to compare the “price per unit” to find the most cost-effective solution for their needs.

    I hope this makes sense!

    Hi @richard4a,

I would recommend using the Measurement Price Calculator plugin for calculating prices per unit of a product. If you’ve not yet found this plugin in your earlier research, kindly check if it meets your goals and feel free to create a ticket with us if you have questions regarding its functions.

However, if the length and price of your cables are fixed, and the most important feature is the comparability of prices, I could suggest using a variations table instead: https://woocommerce.com/products/product-variations-table-for-woocommerce/

    I hope this helps.

    Thanks.

    Hi there,

I don’t think either of these really address my query.

Customers cannot buy the same product in different lengths (no variations).

I’d like them to be able to see, for example, the price-per-metre on the product page such as in the attributes section, or using ACF and displaying via shortcode/hook.

    Thanks for clarifying.

Well, apart from using the product description boxes to manually list the price per meter, the other options might require you to add some custom code.

As our support here does not extend to custom code, I would suggest that you consult with a developer or the WooCommerce customization partners for assistance with this.

    Thanks.
