So, I can use Adobe Bridge to manage all of my local network image keywords, and when I import them into Nextgen, those Keywords become tags.

What happens if I want to re-tag images in Bridge? Is it possible to update previously uploaded images in Nextgen, or are we stuck with double updating after the first import?

    Hi @arretx,

Honestly saying, I wasn’t even aware that Adobe Bridge can be used to upload images to NextGen Gallery as we haven’t tested it and also haven’t created any integration plugin for it like we have done in Imagely Lightroom plugin case that works with Adobe Lightroom.

I am assuming that the only way to see how it will work is to give it a try to see if it will duplicate or update the images’ tags. Once again, NextGen doesn’t have an integration with Adobe Bridge.

It can’t be used to inject images into Nextgen, but it can be used to tag files with keywords much like Lightroom, and then when adding those images manually through the Nextgen plugin, those keywords translate to tags. The major difference between the two is that Bridge acts as a file browser, while Lightroom Classic acts as a data manager that’s linked to source files and is non-destructive.

I have actually switched from Bridge to Lightroom to manage the organization of all of my images, and that DOES have the integration for direct publishing to Nextgen.

Oh, I see. In this case, I am assuming that you were looking for a way to re-upload files to be able to replace the original images and their meta. This isn’t possible at this time. Re-uploading the same exact image ( with the same name ) will create a new image in NextGen.

Using Imagely Lightroom you should be able to update the images’ captions and tags as it has an integration for this purpose.
