How to Bulk Delete Millions of 404’s

    Due to recent site issues, my 404 error log has over a million entries. How can I bulk delete these? Selecting a group of 404’s per page and using the Delete bulk action is taking WAY too long that way. Is there another way to clear all of these 404’s all at once? This is rather urgent since the size of the log is timing out my BackupBuddy backups and is preventing backups. Thanks!

    I just figured this out. Went to phpMyAdmin, found the wp_redirection_404 table and clicked the Empty option for that table:

    That worked for me.

    Wow. Having to use phpMyAdmin means this plug-in has serious problems.

    It should make it simple to delete all of the 404 data.

    For future reference: There’s a “Delete All” button at the bottom of the 404 log page.

    Can you please provide a screenshot of the Delete All button? I only see the Bulk Action dropdown with the Delete option there. That method is very inefficient when you have a lot of 404’s to delete. Thanks.

    @midihead, thanks for the note about the wp_redirection_404 table. I need to selectively remove thousands of 404 log entries after migrating a site. It would be helpful if the UI allowed for filtering and then Delete All of just the filtered selection, as in : I know about this, get rid of it.

    @edikitt is correct. There is a Delete All button at the bottom of the 404 log page.

    This will bulk delete all 404s but does not allow for selective deletion. I agree that a filtering option that works with the Delete All option would be helpful.
