• I new to wordpress and I’m trying to get my head around how to build a multi page website. I understand the concept of changing the appearance thru themes, css and widgets. The area I’m struggerling to understand is pages and post?

Is the best way to do this by building the site using pages and to forget about using posts with catogories and tags?

  • if you are trying to get lots of pages, use pages…. they are individual pages, you can have them in the navbar, users can naviigate through them one by one

Posts usually all appear as a blog, one after the other
but, you can sort the posts using the tags and/or categories which can be handy…. say you write about 4 topics, you can categorize your posts and have 1 page for each of those categories with the pertinant posts on the page

Using pages, you get just the one page, that’s all

I’m trying to achieve just the same, but seem to miss something. I made a page template (one to begin with) to receive posts from a specific category, but the page just displays blank.

    second option here:

Only if I use the loop in my index.php, it shows up. What’s the deal?

    Thanks for any help.
