• Hi! Very simply, I’d like to hide the dashboard from Subscribers, but not from Editors. I didn’t see any settings. How is this done?

You have to use a plugin to do that:

Yes, I’m using that plugin, but it appears to block every role except Admin. I’d like to allow Editors to see the dashboard. How is this achievable?

By default, it only hides the dashboard from Subscribers. If other roles are being blocked from viewing the dashboard, then the plugin has been modified. Have you changed the plugin at all?

Also, what other plugins do you have installed/activated?

I haven’t modified the plugin. The other plugins on board are:

    – page links to
    – theme my login
    – members by justin tadlock
    – WP Hide Dashboard
    – Stop Spammer Registrations Plugin
    – Register IP by Johnny White
    – Fast and Secure Contact Form
    – W3 Total Cache by W3 EDGE

Do me a favor. Disable all of the plugins, and see if the dashboard shows up for the Editor role (it should).

Reactivate WP Hide Dashboard and check again. It should still be there.

Then begin reactivating your other plugins, one at a time, and check after each one whether the Editor role can still access the dashboard. Make a note of what plugin you activated when it disappears again and post it back here please.

It was indeed a conflicting plugin. In this case, Theme My Login By Jeff Farthing – which unfortunately for me is a pretty important plugin.

However, I noticed a strange thing: the Editor role has access to plugins, but not plugin settings. If this is true by default, I don’t see the use of it..

Do you happen to know if the editor role is limited like this by default?
