• I am currently using wordfence and I would like to block bad IP addresses accessing websites automatically. Most of the IP addresses are scraping the website and they are supposedly from MSN (verified from geoIP data https://whatismyip.live). These are not BING bots.

Is there any other plugin which has similar features of wordfence but can also detect IP addresses with excessive website scraping?

Actually I have been warned by web host twice for using causing high server load but my website is very small with few thousands visitors per week.

  • Rather than using a plugin, I recommend a CDN with a firewall feature. There are many excellent CDN/WAF providers available. Cloudflare and StackPath are two of them. Also, check with your web host. Having a CDN with a WAF will alleviate the load on your web server and enhance site protection.

    Hi @yourtech
Cloudflare will auto-block or restrict access to lousy IP addresses. You don’t have to configure or block any IPs manually. You’ll find details guidelines on Astra’s blog page.

Give it a try, and let me know how that goes! ??

Cloudflare WAF option is a paid option. Is there anything that I can use for free? My website is very small and I can’t afford paid firewall options at the moment.
