    Hi there,

I use Amazon s3 to upload the backups but I see many times happening that backups are being stored on the server anyways and thus taking up many space on my server and costing me work to delete manually all the time.

I prefer to not have backups on server so how can I avoid this happening?

Cheers and thumbs up for this plugin!

    Hi,

This indicates that there may be an issue with the backups.

Please could you send us a copy of the latest backup log? This can be found in the UpdraftPlus Existing Backups tab.

The contents will be too long to post here directly, but you can use an online service such as Pastebin, and post the links here.

I too would like to know how to NOT have files stored on my server as I use Dropbox.
I do NOT want my server to host backups as that is not a secure place to store backups.

    Hi,

By default, UpdraftPlus is configured to delete the local copy of a backup after it has been uploaded to remote storage. This is controlled by the ‘Delete local backup’ option in the expert settings section of the UpdraftPlus Settings tab.

If the backup files are being left on the server, this indicates that there may be an issue with the backup. Could you start a new support thread (to prevent overlapping replies), and link to a copy of the latest backup log?
