    Hello.

I recently created a multilingual website, and I copy and paste the entire body from the original website’s Gutenberg editor to another Gutenberg editor.

This works perfectly, but I have an issue with the images being linked as Img tag.

Is there any way to set it up so that the images are automatically uploaded to the media library?

    Thank you.

At the moment, there isn’t a way to upload the external images in your media library. This option was requested previously and you can find the GitHub issue below:

Feel free to add your own input.

This is a great suggestion! It would make importing content a lot easier.

You might be aware of this already but, when you add an image using the “Add via URL” option, you will see a button with an upwards facing arrow:

If you click on it, the image will be uploaded to your site’s Media Library and the URL in the image block will be replaced with the URL to the image in your own Media Library.

This is not fully automated yet, but it is a reasonably fast workaround for now.

I noticed that this “Import to Media Library” option was not included in the Image Block documentation so I added it.

I am going to mark this as resolved for now but please feel free to comment if you have any follow up questions, @seotaro.
