HOW TO: Automate the import of XML files into your wordpress site

  • I have posted this before, but my question has remained unanswered.

    Manually I am able to import XML file through the use of Tools->Import->Wordpress->Selecting WXR(xml) file.

    I now want to automate this process.

    Ideally, by just placing the XML file in an ftp folder, the script will run periodically to check for any files and importing them.

    I haven’t found any information about how to do this.
