Hello, I am brand new to WordPress. I currently have a domain called “www.mydomain.com” and my WordPress is located at “www.mydomain.com/wordpress.” I have followed several tutorials explaining how to make WordPress show up as “www.mydomain.com” without the “/wordpress” part. I copied the index.php file to my root directory and edited it. I also moved the wp-config.php file to my root directory. WordPress is in its own directory “/wordpress.” All I get as a result of this is an error message and cannot log-in to my WordPress administrative interface, so I have to uninstall and then re-install WordPress.

Can someone help or redirect me to the correct tutorial that I should be following?

    Thank you for your help!
