How to alter leading in P2?

If I choose one of the headings say 4, the leading is so tight that the lines virtually touch. The same applies to selecting actual font sizes once you get above 14pt.
Why doesn’t the theme make the necessary adjustments to font leading like it should? And if it doesn’t how do I fix it, as it looks awful? Embarrassing even…
Even basic HTML manages to do this.
