How to add widget underneath the slider and before the blog list.

Hey guys.. been using this theme for quite a while and it’s by far the best theme that I’ve used.

Just wanna ask some help… is it possible to add a widget below my slider and before the blog list on homepage?

I’m planning on placing a category button below the slider (through a widget) so that the reader can easily select a category they wanna read about.

I tried to follow the instructions in this link: https://presscustomizr.com/snippet/adding-widget-area-home/ but it seems to not work..
