How To Add Tracking Code for Google Analytics

  • I changed my theme to Twenty Thirteen over a week ago and today I received notice from Google Analytics that my site current doesn’t receive hits. I see that I need to add my tracking code but I don’t know how or where. Advice please?

  • I like using the plugin Header and Footer. Once you install it, go to Settings > Header and Footer, then in the field labeled Code to be added before the end of the page, paste in your Google Analytics code. Make sure your code is enclosed by < script > … </ script > tags. It may take a couple of days for Google Analytics to accumulate stats for your site after you add the code.
