  • Same here I am trying to display sidebar on my product page but no luck with it. No sidebar found.

To add a sidebar for a specific product:

    1. Go to Products admin page and select the checkmark under Custom Sidebars for the products you want to have their own sidebars. If you don’t see this column, check Screen Options in the upper right corner of your screen.
    2. Go to Appearance > Widget Areas and add a new widget area.
    3. Under Conditions make sure the Advanced tab is selected. You should then see a new tab called Products. This tab will contain any products that you selected in step one above.

    Does that help?

    Hi.

If I create a new widget area called “WooCommerce”, and configure conditions to select all WooCommerce options, including “Products”, and then add widgets to the new WooCommerce widget in Appearance > Widgets, only the default sidebar shows when viewing a WooCommerce product.

This contradicts the condition that the WooCommerce sidebar area displays for Products.

@srd75, you could try selecting “Each Individual Product” under the Post Types tab in your widget area settings.

Or there may be something else happening that is overriding the settings for that widget area. Kind of hard to tell without actually seeing the admin.

    Thanks John.

I tried that, cleared the W3 Total Cache, cleared the browser cache, and the default sidebar is still there.

    Confusing.

If you want I can take a quick look at your settings; would need a temporary admin login.

Otherwise, without seeing the admin, I don’t know what else to tell you.

    Checkout a screenshot here.

This product, and this product do not have the WooCommerce sidebar present, which simply contains the WooCommerce cart.

It looks right, but there may be something else interfering with or overriding the sidebar settings that can’t be seen in the screenshot.

Are you sure you have the correct sidebar selected?

“Are you sure you have the correct sidebar selected?”.

Well, given that the “WooCommerce” sidebar area should display for “every product”, and given the WooCommerce sidebar contains only the WooCommerce cart, I believe the settings are correct.

I think you misunderstood my question.

I was referring to “Sidebar to Replace” in the widget area settings. Looking at the source code for your site it looks like you have different sidebar options, though I could be wrong.

    IC. Thanks for clarifying.

You’re right – this setting needs some attention.

    Please see this screenshot.

The widget area that actually displays is not the default, it turns out, but the custom widget area I created called “Default Page Sidebar”, but I can’t see how the conditions for “Default Page Sidebar” match those of an individual WooCommerce product.

Try setting the “Default Page Sidebar” to draft, and then see if the “WooCommerce” sidebar shows like it’s supposed to on those singe products.

I noticed that the “WooCommerce” sidebar isn’t showing up on your checkout or other pages either. Is there a page where it does appear?

Thanks John, that did the trick.

Now why is “Default Page Sidebar” jumping in on things?

I deselected “Template Hierarchy > Single Entries” in “Default Page Sidebar” and republished “Default Page Sidebar” and the correct side bar is displaying on the WooCommerce pages.

    Thanks for your help John.

    You’re welcome!
