How to add sidebar?

    I got so far to insert the template part with the post and page links, but it shows at the beginning of the page and the main content below it.

    How can I get the top part as a sidebar to the right of the main content?

    I have watched hours of tutorials and read several, but wasn’t able to figure it out.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    I placed the blog colums at the beginning and moved the content into it.
