How to add Notes section in invoice

I’m working on a invoice in CRM and I’ve trying to add a notes section but haven’t been successful doing so I’ve tried everything from the setting section but nothing populates an area where I can type in a note for the customer to read.
Also would like to add payment information for customer read.
Can you please help?
