    Hello,

I have removed pagination from my website’s homepage, I have successfully removed rel=next, rel=previous also. Now I want to add noindex, follow to my homepage pagination pages as I don’t want search engines to index these pages.

    Thanks

    Hello Manav,

Thanks for reaching out regarding your paginated archives.

There is no option in the Yoast SEO plugin to add a noindex tag to paginated archives. According to Google, adding noindex on a page long-term will lead to them not following links on that page. More recent statements imply that if a page isn’t in their index, the links on it and from it can’t be evaluated at all. So with that, we do not recommend adding noindex to /page/2… 15 or further on paginated archives.

However, if you still want to noindex paginated archive pages, you can use the filter here. You or your developer can customize it depending on your needs. You may also get in touch with your theme developer for further guidance.

    Hi Maybellyne,

Thanks for your reply. I used the shared code from Here , it added noindex, follow but there’s some more <meta name=’robots’ content=’max-image-preview:large, noindex, follow’ />, how to remove ‘max-image-preview:large,” from code ?

    Thanks

    Hello Manav,

The max-image-preview:large directive allows search engines to display large image previews for the site resulting in an enhanced user experience. The directive is now added by default to sites that wish to be indexed by search engines. The robots meta tag is output by default as of Yoast 12.2. We have more information on why it was added here: https://yoast.com/yoast-seo-12-2/

If you, however, do want to change that robots meta value, we have a filter called wpseo_robots that allows you to programmatically change the robots meta tag.

Yes, I know max-image-preview:large why its used. I am saying I don’t this on pages that I don’t want to index. Its showing on pages with “noindex, follow” tag on homepage pagination pages.

Can you provide a sample URL where this happens?
