WordPress uses Gravatar to serve avatars tied directly to your email address (Gravatar = Globally Recognized Avatar).

To set up your Gravatar, visit https://en.gravatar.com/

wow thanks James. Is that also the reason why in this site, your avatar is your pic while mine is a cartoon?

That’s correct. We use Gravatars here too. Once you’ve set your Gravatar, that strange monster thingy will turn into your own Gravatar.

i see my twitter ac is still using my old pic, do i have to set it manually?
also my blog still shows a cartoon character. Do i need to wait for a while for the GRAVATAR to be activated?

Twitter uses their own avatar system, so you’d have to upload it to your Twitter account separately.

As for your blog, make sure that you’re using the same email on your blog profile as you are at Gravatar. If not, just add the email to your Gravatar account. You can have as many emails linked to your Gravatar account as you’d like.

hi do u mind takng a look at my blog https://thomastansg.org/
its e image above e date which i m trying to change but in vain.

Oh my, that’s definitely not a Gravatar. The image is coming from:

    https://thomastansg.org/wp-content/themes/diabolique-spring/img/photo.png

So, you should be able to change that in sort of theme-specific settings, or at least replace the file itself.

ok thanks again James. I will give it try.

    Hi James,

sorry i understand the part when you sy the image s from the fle, but i dun know how nd where to change the file from. Is it possible you can go into more details on this?

Access your server via FTP or SFTP, navigate to /wp-content/themes/diabolique-spring/img/ and replace the photo.png file.

You should probably replace it with an image of the same dimensions.

    Hi,

I am @ the folder to replace the file. But how do i actually add images into the folder and replace the current one?

I tried a control-c , copy my file, ctrl-v to paste but in vain.

    Kindly advise James.

    Thanks alot.

Most FTP clients use drag and drop. So, delete the file that’s there, then drag and drop the file you want to upload.
