How to add items to the sidebar specific to certain months

    Hi, I want to use WP to create a newsletter CM system. It will have a 3 column format. Only 5 posts will be displayed on the homepage per month. My dilema is that I have specific html code and items/polls that need to show up in the right and left sidebar specific to each month/edidtion. How can I go about setting this up so the appropriate information is displayed even in the archives. Please advise
