How to add images to post excerpt??

Hello,

Simple question but I can’t quite figure it out. I don’t have the premium theme but I’m starting to feel this theme has its limitations. Does anyone know how to add images to post excerpts?

My post excerpts are just chunks of text which is un-attractive when people are skimming posts on my blog. How do I add a image to a post excerpt?
