• I’d really like to try your slider for this, but the instructions are not at all clear. I think some screen shots or other visual aids would be a big help, if only because the language for the different elements is so similar that I am still finding myself making all of the wrong guesses. The main thing I want to do is add a slider to just the home page, then just static banner images to individual pages.

In spite of having the settings set for a static Home page, if I use the WP interface to create the Home page slider and insert that shortcode I immediately get the “Hello World” post—but no slider. If I try the other shortcode I either get the “Hello World” again or an error message saying it is not set up properly. Either way, I definitely don’t want the post, so maybe what you are offering won’t be a fit. Again, screenshots would help.

If you can provide some guidance it would be great. It is unfortunate that since I only want it on the Home page, the header.php option isn’t a fit. I’m not going to leave the site link because I will be continuing to sample other sliders. If I know when you will be looking I would be happy to share it. I just can’t wait knowing it could be days or weeks before a response. Thanks…

  • Sorry I missed that post…
If you are still looking, I think you may be having some WP understanding issue.
the first thing to do is simply test the slider in the content area of a test page so that you only concern yourself with making sure you are setting the slider right. when that is done, you can move to placing the slider where you want it, which may require understanding WP or your theme options.
So just create a new static page for test, use a default template, and above the content editor in the Add Show Slider Drop down list select you slider so it adds the shortcode in the content editor. Then test if the slider shows in the content of that page.

For more help, you can come to the weaver forum and post in the ATW Show Post and ATW Show Slider discussion group.

I am new to wordpress and the use of plugins.
I really don’t understand how to apply this plugin to a page.
The video showed me how to add photos but didn’t explain how to add the slideshow to a page.
    I have a page
I have a module with a slider in it
I’ve added a add[show_slider] to the content box
I created a slider post named “workatanthc”
I’ve placed this into the content [show_slider name=”workatanthc”]
I’ve added 3 photos…to everything without any luck. No matter what I do I just get the 3 photos showing one on top of the other just as though I simply plugged in each photo into a text box.
Can you help me to understand what I am not getting please?

I just want a simple slide show to show 3 photos…that’s it.

Have you tried to follow the Quick help in The Dashboard > ATW Post/Slider > Quick Start Help.
How to create an Image Slide Show using WordPress Media Gallery

1.Create the Image Slider content. Add your images to the Media Library. Ideally, the images will be the same or similar sizes.

2.Create a Slider Post to hold gallery.
Open Dashboard > Slider Posts > New Slider Post to create a Slider Post to define gallery. Give that post a meaningful name – for example, Colorado.

3.Add a [gallery] to that post with your images.
While on the post editing page, Use “Add Media > Create Gallery > Add gallery. This should add a gallery shortcode to your post content.
See this video tutorial on how to create a gallery. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8O0swHbEdVU#t=515

Click Publish in the Slider Post editing page. If you click on View post this will simply show all your images on top of each other. This is normal as this is the post NOT the slider

    4.Creating the Slider.
Open the Dashboard > ATW Posts/Slider > Sliders tab.
Create a New Slider (e.g., named “Colorado”).
In the “Required Options” section, set slider type and paging options to your choice.
In Slider options, in the Quick Option: Slider Post Slug Drop down list, select the slider post you created (e.g., “colorado”). Save settings !

    5.Inserting your slider.
    Create a test page
Above the content editor of the page, click the Add Show Slider Button , Select the slider you created in the drop down list, click ADD.
This should add the shortcode of the slider in your page content editor. It will look something like [show_slider name=”colorado”]
Publish that page, and View that page, it should display your slider

You can insert the shortcode referencing the slider you created (eg: [show_slider name=”colorado”]) in any content are (page , post, text widget etc…

And again, FOR FASTER SUPPORT, post in the forum
