How to add html color codes to wordpress horizontal lines

A horizontal rule is not a text element so you can’t use the ‘color’ style. The horizontal rule is styled by the browser through borders. So use a border style:

hr {
    border: 1px solid red;
}

Hmmm… well the code <hr color=”#dbec15″> is working on my main site that is running a different theme, but on the new test site that is running a new theme, it’s not working. How can I use your code with an html color?

@semperaye Just replace red with the color code.

hr {
    border: 1px solid #dbec15;
}

The reason your other theme might be working is possibly because it is styling the border-color to equal currentColor, which will use whatever the current color value is (which would be the value of color if that’s set in the style attribute). This is a bit of a roundabout way of doing it though. Is there a reason you specifically want to use the color property?

You are probably on Windows using IE and the main site is probably not HTML5.

Is that custom css? I can’t just insert different colors on each page? I have many pages that need to be styled differently not just one line unfortunately. I’ll reply back here if I find a solution thanx.
