  • I have used the Connections theme (great theme, btw) and changed the image like this:

I downloaded the wp-content/themes/connections/img/top.jpg, opened it in an image editor (Photoshop here) and defined the ‘image area’ with a selection box (top.jpg has a border area you want to keep to match the theme design, you don’t want to change that).

Then I loaded the image I wanted to use, select/copy and then pasted into the top.jpg ‘selected area’.

I renamed the top.jpg on the server to topORIG.jpg and uploaded the new top.jpg.

As to those links, I removed mine from the header.php file. But, you should be able to go into the WP admin and go to Write:Write Page and create pages using the title of the link (about, archives, link, contact). Then test…

EDIT: Here’s a link to the Connections Reloaded header image (same structure as Connections) in .psd format:

“an image editor (Photoshop here) and defined the ‘image area’ with a selection box (top.jpg has a border area you want to keep to match the theme design, you don’t want to change that)”

How do i define the image area?

Draw a box with the selection tool (as if you were ‘cropping’ for example) that does not include the border design or the space on top for the menu background. When you ‘paste’ into that it will prevent pasting over the edge/border design.

Another option: Measure the dimension of the area you want to change (I get 742 x 142) and make sure the image you want to use is that dimension. Copy and paste it into your old top.jpg, where the existing image area is.

    Hope that makes some sense…
